Strictly Social have a tough job on their hands. They run social media campaigns on social networks on behalf of brands. And do it for multiple brands, day in and day out, on a budget and with hard metrics to live up to.

What are the reasons for using Ubervu?

I looked at the other social media buzz monitoring tools and used a few in my previous work so already had experience with them. But obviously the price ranges are massively different. All the high end ones are terribly expensive. The product and output you get from Ubervu is just as good as the more expensive options out there. Plus you get the reports, sentiments, graphs and all the pretty things.

How does it make your life better?

I know that its constantly tracking every bit of activity. It just works very well. Its very user friendly. Easy to get on with like when somebody new comes on I don't need to spend too much time training or explaining to them what needs to be done. They also have online support which is fantastic. It's just a brilliant service.

Why is it important to constantly track what's going on?

We are living in a real time world right now and Ubervu allows us to document and to keep track of any activity. This is good for our clients as it shows the value we are brining. It shows that we've had impact on buzz, messages and views. Without showing our value we don't have a company. Ubervu helps us a lot to show our value to our clients.

What's wrong with just using Twitter search?

We need to be able to document and check what's happened in the past. With Ubervu you can go back on certain dates to see what's happened. Its been indexed. With twitter its not as manageable. Its instant which is okay. But for what we do we need to be able to go back on a specific date to see what happened on that day, what messages went out and what impact they had.

If you did not use Ubervu what would you be using?

Not sure. Sentiment Metrics is far too expensive. Radian6 is far too expensive. What would happen is that we would have to add the cost on top of our fees in order to use those services. But it would make our service more expensive.

What is your favorite feature within Ubervu?

My favorite thing right now is how you manage to calculate to the potential views a message has had. It shows how many people might have been exposed to a particular message at a particular time. Thats my new favorite thing as it allows me to show clients and say look this is the potential.

Finally what tips can you give to our readers starting out in social media?

Be transparent and realise it takes about 3 to 4 months to build a worthwhile community. Nothing happens over night. You need to work at it. Create and give away good content. In social media you have to be open, loving, honest and transparent. If your not it can turn against you.
