Today, in 1772, Samuel Adams and Dr. Joseph Warren formed the first permanent “Committee of Correspondence,” which eventually provided a mechanism for the 13 colonies to share and dissemination information in their struggles against the monarchy.

Tyrants back down or are overthrown when they overreach; it is just a question of how long it takes. They are not usually stupid, just ruthless. The only way to make this "tyranny-in-the-making" stumble and stop is to raise holy hell long and loud so the tin-ears in the WH and Capitol Hill, and possibly even on the Supreme Court begin to get the message.
