If you're like me, the word dissection brings back memories of cutting and poking on smelly, wet, dead things in high school biology. Yuck. As a homeschooling mother, however, I have now become the teacher, obligating me to provide things for my own children to dissect. We did owl pellet dissection recently when we found an owl had been roosting in our barn. Wish I had known about the identification charts! Oh well. Next time I will.

I really want to be the kind of mom that does this! It is in our curriculum this year, and I was thinking of asking my husband to do it for me, but this doesn't look as scary as I thought.
