History was made one year ago when Barack Obama, a young African-American senator from Illinois, inspired America to do something it has never done before; elect a Black man as President of the United States.

I hosted a gathering of family and friends at my home. The level of joy, tears, and hugs in the room was overwhelming. We began to get very excited when VA and PA came in, then, when they called OH, we began to erupt! Wolfe immediately followed by declaring Obama the winner, and the house exploded with elation!

I had went straight home to watch the coverage till 11 oclock when they announced that he was president. Me and my bestfriend went out to party! Even if it was through the week. Dancing in the streets in Washington, DC on U Street. They blocked off the road to traffic, so ppl could walk in the street. It was a BEAUTIFUL thing!
