In his November 1999 paper “Flawed Forecasts,” Heywood Sanders writes, “The relative appeal of a city will shape its ability to draw new business independent of the national market” (pg. 14). Later, he asserts, “No amount of national meeting boom may bring business to a poorly located or undesirable center, while a top-notch destination may survive even in a highly competitive environment” (pg. 9) ... Here’s a different take on this…
There has been, in my mind, something unsettling about why candidate Haslam would allow his campaign consultant and political insider, Tom Ingram, to get this intimately involved in, what is now clearly a local issue? Is this an indication that, if elected, Governor Haslam will become actively engaged in helping micro-manage other local matters?

On my show today Councilman Mike Jameson said they are kicking owners out of their property. Giving them 60 days to get out. Also he said the council members that oppose this project are getting their arms twisted to support it. Also he said they had private meetings with the meetings end up with a bunch or MCC supporters with powerpoint presentations. They are literally trying to strong arm those ... See all content

Hey, Susan, why should a waste my time on a glorified HAM radio show?
Did Mike Jameson, Gaylord’s puppet, tell how much he’s paying Sanders to come to town? You do know this is Woody’s job, don’t you. Been at it for years. He’s a hired gun that trashes convention centers for money.

Maybe Mike Jameson and Emily Evans can hold the meeting at the Opryland Hotel. How about holding it in Colin Reed’s office?

Heywood Sanders is a joke. He has totally ignored every successful convention center.
He gets paid to argue that conention centers suck.
Who is paying him this time?

Who is paying Sanders to come to Nashville? He’s been ranting and raving about convention centers for almost 30 years. How much money has he made in this cottage industry?
Also, how many cities have actually listened to him? It seems he recites the same spiel in every city and then is roundly ignored by decision makers?
Anyone think Heywood will talk about St. Louis on Monday
