Convention center critic to visit Nashville opposition group

Here’s a different take on this…

There has been, in my mind, something unsettling about why candidate Haslam would allow his campaign consultant and political insider, Tom Ingram, to get this intimately involved in, what is now clearly a local issue?  Is this an indication that, if elected, Governor Haslam will become actively engaged in helping micro-manage other local matters?  Does this mean that candidate Haslam is deploying his staff to support companies or individuals who support. or promise to support his bid for Governor (just a question)?  What impact wil candidate Haslam’s involvement (direct or otherwise) in this matter have on his ability to carry Davidson County in the primary and, if he succeeds, in the general election?  Why is he willing to take that risk?  Is he pro-growth ?  Well, since he’s a Republican, he should be pro-growth, but if Ingram is successful in negotiating down, or even away the Music City Center project, that will certainly stunt any opportunity for real growth, or kill it altogether.  If either of these outcomes occurs, the only winner will be Gaylord, and they are not planning on growing anything – at least in Tennessee.  Now candidate Haslam will say that Ingram is only a “consultant” and is free to represent whomever he wishes.  But, EVERYTHING in politics is linked…EVERYTHING.  And candidate Haslam seems to be sending a clear signal that his possible tenure as governor could be filled with what is commonly referred to as “politics as usual”.  That is too bad because that is the last thing we need, now.  Governor Bredesen was, in my opinion, the right guy at the right time to deal with the state’s TennCare woes when he was first elected.  We are in critical need another problem-solver to tackle the state’s continuing decline in revenues.  Haslam’s decision to allow Ingram to muddy the waters in Nashville indicates that he doesn’t have a clear sense of making problems go away – just one of making problems worse.

Hey, Susan, why should a waste my time on a glorified HAM radio show?

Did Mike Jameson, Gaylord’s puppet, tell how much he’s paying Sanders to come to town? You do know this is Woody’s job, don’t you. Been at it for years. He’s a hired gun that trashes convention centers for money.

Here’s the interesting thing, no one has ever listened to Sanders . Not a single city. Why should Nashville?
