Nej, vi vet ingenting med säkerhet. Det är ett av de stora problemen med ACTA-förhandlingarna.

Sen tycker jag du är påtagligt optimistisk. Man behöver inte bevaka alla. Det gör vi ju inte med annan brottslighet. Men man kan bevaka några slumpvis en vecka åt gången eller så. Tag som exempel fartövervakningssystemet med massor av kameror längs vägarna. De är aldrig på samtidigt , men man vet ju aldrig vilka som är på förrän det är försent.

ISP-erna skulle inte gå under. Naturligtvis inte, men det kommer att göra livet jobbigt för den som vill erbjuda ett öppet Internet. Men att människor numer kommunicerar digitalt det går inte att stoppa. Vårt samhälle har redan växt fast i Internet.

Okej, nu får ni se på detta med lite perspektiv. Först och främt, vi kan inte vara säkra på att dessa uppgifter stämmer. Det andra är att detta kommer aldrig funka i praktiken, då måste man i så fall övervaka precis alla, det kostar för mycket pengar. ISPer skulle dessutom gå under om de var 100% ansvariga för vad som hände på internet. Det tredje är att detta troligen är mer ett förslag, inte något som är stämplat på ACTA avtalet. ... I’ve said it before, and I can say it again: it’s illogical to choose to work inside the system and then begin to leak secret documents. Unless you are trying to break the system, but I don’t think that’s what the Pirate party wants. I think it’s serious about affecting those areas which are their voters’ concern.

Instead we should demand again and again more transparency in the decision making process. But that also requires us to learn the rules.

It’s not ACTA that demand, it’s the US negotiators that demands certain stuff. And everyone else seem to have a problem with it, Canada, Japan, EU, and even Australia.

Read the the european commission’s Q and A on ACTA, for instance. For all some people think about the commission, the commission still are a bunch of bureaucrats that do the parliament’s biding within the EU law, and believe it or not, but if the parliament decided to limit member countries CCTV usage by a directive, and it would be within EU law, the commission would sign off on it, because that’s their job.

What bugs me more is the fact that there’s not enough leaks. They ought to leak more. And leaking is legal, even if your bound to a private contract you have the right to leak, as long as it can be defined to concern everyone else, at which point it’s deemed an obligation to society.

One could see it as that anyone who doesn’t leak is more concerned with his, or hers, own career, rather than society’s interest. ... See all content Hide content

Om man får tro det läckta dokumentet så har USA inte velat visa korten än. Så känsligt är det, t.o.m. i USA.

Lissabonfördraget innebär inte någon förändring i processen när det gäller antagandet av internationella avtal.

There is reason for you to really look in to the regulations regarding adoption by the EU of international agreements. But as a case of common sense reasoning, if the EU commits to an international agreement, the EU should of course respect it. That’s what Article 216 says.

However, when I read Article 218 FEC (Swedish) its said that the Parliament should have its say regarding agreements covering fields to which either the ordinary legislative procedure applies, or the special legislative procedure where consent by the European Parliament is required (Point 6 (a) (v) of that article).

So there will be important steps in which any unfortunate wording in ACTA could be stopped, but the sooner the better of course.

Here’s what the European parliament should do if it wants to maintain its recent victory – and yes it is a victory – regarding end-user’s rights.

1. You should find out if your committee (JURI or INCO) has the case. That may not be settled yet, because the contents of ACTA is not settled yet. If so, you might want to form a strategy for making sure it gets into one of those two committees. I don’t know who decides these things, but you should find out. International trade (INTA) is a candidate I guess.

2. You should demand immediate and full information according to Article 218 FEC point 10. It is mandated that the EP is informed at all times.

3. You should find out if the EP could make a statement to the Council encouraging it to issue directives to the negotiator according to Article 218 FEC point 4 to uphold end user’s rights as they have now been defined in the telecoms package

4. It is the Council that authorizes the signing of the agreement. Article 207 contains wordings which may imply the signing of ACTA requires a unanimous decision by the Council. I have not fully digested the text yet.

For the negotiation and conclusion of agreements in the fields of trade in services and the commercial aspects of intellectual property, as well as foreign direct investment, the Council shall act unanimously where such agreements include provisions for which unanimity is required for the adoption of internal rules.

5. If the agreement is signed then it must be ratified to come into force. As I stated above, the EP is likely to be required to give its consent. You must be prepared to raise a majority against ACTA.

In conclusion, there is a formal procedure, so it will not be a fait accompli. However, once it’s out of the box it may be hard to stop, especially if the Obama administration comes out publicly about it. ... See all content Hide content

För att garantera att inget ”olagligt” innehåll trafikerar ledningarna krävs ett kabel-TV-internet. Det är vad många stora mediabolag önskar sig – då kan de håva in hutlösa avgifter för envägskommunikation.

Det gör mig beklämd att så många politiker glömt eller inte tagit till sig att deras uppgift är att representera oss väljare, utan istället verkar de kunna bortse från allt vad privatliv, rättssäkerhet och medborgerliga friheter heter.

Vissa verkar t.om. vara beredda att slå knut på sig själva för att tillgodose USA och amerikanska jätteföretags intressen.

Jag känner mig rent paranoid, jag tror mig se att alla de rättigheter man kämpat för i generationer bara säljs ut till profithungriga företag.

Lissabonfördraget är ännu ett lite steg mot den totalövervakade Europeiska federationen. Nu behöver man inte längre hålla på och fjanta med folkomröstningar längre. Man har äntligen fått makten i sin egen hand.

Det känns som om allt för många politiker gräver demokratins grav och det enda som bekymrar dem är hur de ska kunna få mer förmåner till sig själva.

Politiska partier i dagens samhälle har förlorat all kontakt med verkligheten och har istället blivit en självreproducerande organism som genererar politiker från ett skrå som beskattar och lever av befolkningen utan att egentligen behöva ta hänsyn till dess vilja eller riskera att bli tvingade till att ta ansvar för sina beslut. ... Återigen ett bevis på att PP verkligen behövs idag. Utan PP hade detta med all sannolikhet smutit förbi och ingen hade reagerat förrens det var försent. Stort tack till PP, ni har min givna röst i valet nästa år. Nu är det dags att gammelmedia tar upp det och börjar sätta sig in i vad detta kommer att få för effekter. Detta måste verkligen lyftas upp och ACTA måste motarbetas på alla möjliga sätt.
