Billy,

What a wonderful story and lesson for us. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Maureen,

I love your comment. Adding the “-ing” does give new life and meaning to an otherwise static verb. Such a great point.

How in the world did you end up with such a wise child? ;o)

I like this line: “Just to help, Daddy. I’m a Girl Scout. We don’t just clean up our own messes, we help other folks clean up theirs, too.”

Now isn’t that right there part of the high calling of life and faith that we’re living? N0t only cleaning up our own messes but helping other folks clean up theirs, as well? She’s learning a generous gift of tangibly loving

Thank you for this story and glimpse into your daughter’s heart.

Baby Girl Coffey was loving you… But I doubt she realized the ripple effect that her loving you would have. Because in those little acts, she was loving us, too… All of us who got to read about it anyway. Our lives are better for her loving. You’ve got a pretty inspiring little angel there, Billy.

Out of the mouths of babes… another terrific lesson from one of your children… beautifully written by their ‘loving’ father.

Thanks, Billy.

“She is now becoming a secret agent of virtue, planting tiny bombs disguised as slivers of paper that explode in showers of blessing.” – Love that.

“Because I am loving you.” A beautifully written lesson on how “-ing” gives life and new meaning to a verb.

A tender story (I especially like the picture of the teddy bear classroom). Thank God for the girl scouts! What a valuable lesson to pass along to a child.

Sweet post, Billy. Thanks for sharing this little piece of your world with us.

Amazing how much God allows us to learn from our children. “A Girl Scout Was Here” — in the sense your daughter meant it, those are words we’d all like to be remembered by.
