A few years ago, the Game Show made a huge come back in the misguided forms of such flashes-in-the-pan as, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, The Weakest Link and even Dog Eat Dog. But lets face it, no Game Shows now-a-days (see: The Power of Ten or Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader) can even hold a candle to the programs of yore *SIGH*. You can catch many of these that no longer air on the Game Show Network, or, you can obviously watch Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy every single night on CBS. But still ...

My guess is that unless you regularly watch the GSN, most diggers wouldn't know most of these due to the age genre. Richard Dawson was creepy but funny.

Bill Cullen (widely cited as the greatest game show host of all time) didn't even make the list. Nor did Dick Clark, Monty Hall or Groucho Marx. (There are others that I would have included, but those four should have been no-brainers.)
No one who didn't host an American game show is included (despite no mention of this being a U.S.-specific list).

A CBS network program is one that is transmitted via the CBS network to most or all of its stations nationwide. I noted above that the syndicated "Jeopardy!" and "Wheel of Fortune" most likely air on a CBS station in the author's market (just as they do in yours), but they are *not* parts of the CBS network and should *not* be referred to as airing "on CBS."

I have to work during the day when the show is on, but I caught it a few weeks ago on a day off... and I have to say Drew Carey is doing a better job than when he first started. I DVR'ed the show the first week he was on the air and was disappointing with how serious he was about everything. Without the humor, it wasn't that fun to watch.
