A new survey from Ronzoni® Smart Taste™ finds that more than half of moms of kids aged 3-12 find it challenging to feed healthy foods to their kids. Parents say taste (32%) by far is biggest reason why. Looks (10%) and texture (9%) follow as next biggest reasons. The top three “yuck factor” foods of kids (aged 3-12) out there are sardines (63%), liver (59%) and beets (50%). Close runners up are Brussels sprouts (49%) and okra (48%). I don’t eat those those “yuck factor” foods. I’m certainly not going to require my kids to eat them. But I do include carrots, onions, celery, green peppers & lentils in the ground beef I use for tacos, spaghetti, etc. I also usually keep pureed food that’s been frozen in ice cube trays in the freezer to use in sauces & soups such as cauliflower, spinach, carrots ...
