He has lived all over the place, had many books published, was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize, has a lead position at St. Andrew's College, knows many famous poets not only through their writings, but personally... and Ron Bayes is as nice as can be. I agree: Aninha is the good vibe glue that makes us happily stick together – and I am a new comer mind you, I can sense that!
Ron: you must come back to Wilmington pronto – if not sooner!

Ron: We love you! Wilmington poets: Meeting you and being in the poetry scene has been the best phase of my life in Wilmington. I will enjoy this as long as it lasts and continue to contribute to it. Thanks for all your great comments! I repeat, this blog wouldn’t be anything without you.

Joe and Regina have some very valid comments. Ron was deeply touched by what we have here. I believe Ana is a key aspect of it as well. I mean we’re writing on her blog, aren’t we? Ron was generous, kind and a delight to be around. A spirit further uplifted by his cheek bones, he does bring a gentle smile all the time! And he is witty too! I appreciated particularly his touching on the “hick sensibility”, important in a society which does not want to look back or deeper. I learned a lot with him and the whole group in one evening. I have only known Ron a short time and have found him to be an exremely generous person. I find his take on life and it’s happenings, priceless.

What can I say? The legend continues. He is the “great,” and I mean great Ron Bayes. How is greatness measured?
