Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn is backing a proposal to sell one of the state’s prison to the federal government to house Guantanamo Bay detainees. He says it would help create about 3,000 jobs, but critics are opposed due to safety concerns.

All the yelling and screaming was all that and nothing more- " oh no, we can't allow them to come here"..."Nobody wants them...All them there evil terrorists!!!!"

Now that it is clear that there is plenty of space, plenty of potential jobs, plenty of potential income...the reports are "bring them to Illinois - potential 3000 jobs"..."Lots of prisons can hold

As someone who lives in the actual town of thomson, I agree. However, I am worried about who they bring in to work it. This little corner of Illinois doesn't need a bunch of Fed's and high end gov't people stomping all over our quiet farmtown.
