Myths, legends, and lore – all part of great fiction, but could they also be shaping our ideas about business?

How about “my title reflects my credibility”, or that “the truth is dangerous”.

George,
I see it as having a “management” mindset…that all aspects of the business need to be managed, including people, ideas, processes, etc. When in reality business needs very little management, it more often needs leadership which can come from any level of the organization (you just hope the top brass are good leaders too!).

Matt,
Great set of myths. I think they can all be grouped into the category of how NOT to lead. Many of these fall into poor leadership practices. Good leadership training will expose these myths for the fallacies they are.
