prime for a class-action discrimination lawsuit. As stated above this is the only segment that is charged on a quantity on items in a bag. I wish some savy surfing attorneys would get together and file some claims.

just put it together last week. southwest and a few other airlines still don't charge for bags. but that doesn't mean that they don't make up for it with booking fees

QANTAS Airlines is the best they didn't charge me for my boardbag at all or any of my luggage and I had 3 boards in a bag. TACA Airlines was $100 for a boardbag one way

Oh yeah, there's one more we forgot to write about...buying/leaving/selling your boards at your destination...it seems to be the popular choice these days.

fly V australia (virgin), I just flew with 3 snowboards (much heavier than surfboards) from Aus to Colorado and didnt get charged a cent the whole way. They are the cheapest airline by far as well!

Watch out for the International fees. I went to Central America in February on Delta Airlines and got hit with a $300 fee (each way) for one brand new board. I ended up leaving the board down there to avoid the $300 to bring it back.

I recently flew united and it cost me $525 for 3 boards one-way, my ticket cost $425. Why can airlines scam us out of our money by allowing them to charge us per board? They dont charge per tshirt in a luggage bag or per golf club. Its a scam.

Just went to France for my honeymoon and flew Air Canada. $100 each way for 2 boards. Probably could have thrown more in there though, they never asked nor checked each way how many were really there. Great airline...free booze too!!
