There are currently no NFL success stories in MMA; there are quite a few non-starters, though.
As for the ones on TUF, that show is an almost open cattle call (especially this season, since heavyweights are so few and far between) whose premise is to find out who 'has what it takes to be an Ultimate Fighter'. None of them have made it in the UFC or MMA, in general. Roy Nelson

lesnar has been training for a few years now - and he's a monster..as much as i hate to admit - plus his first fight in the UFC mir almost took his leg home with him

hehe, i cant make up my mind. on one hand, i totally agree with you. on the other, i think i could pick her up, drop her on the ground and ground-n-pound. i mean, look at brock lesnar, who has relatively little mma skills, fight against Frank Mir. Mir is much better trained at MMA, but he loses due to a pure size disadvantage.

You keep going on about NFL. You do know that Brock Lesnar walked out of WWE into the pre-season Vikings team, right? Sure, it didn't work out - but then, most of these guys don't work out in the UFC, either. Mind you, most of the NFL guys that try MMA think it's much, much harder than football. How can they be the exception to the rule? I watched a bunch of NFL rejects on Ultimate Fighter just the other day. And the sad part is people take time out of their lives to watch these talentless bums. I'm sure they train hard, but truth is they are guys who couldnt make it in another sport and went to MMA.

All's I'm trying to point out is that a lot of these fighters who are considered good arent that special. 90% of these guys that get built up as something special are terrible. I watch MMA and the real top level guys are silva, george, Machida, and Penn. The rest of these guys act the part. Royce was actually fighting numerous guys who weren't trained in ground fighting, hence making him look far more dominate than he really was at the time. A better example of superior technique winning over brute strength, would be Fedor defeating every single heavyweight he fights. He doesn't even look like a fighter when he's fighting. Hell usually he looks like he doesn't even know he's in a fight as he's getting like body slammed, he looks more like a big bear with down's syndrome until he rips your arm out of the socket or beats you to within inches of you life.
