Taste of Chicago: Garrett Popcorn | Family Travel Guide

Now, I dont leap out of bed in the morning in search of popcorn. Its an OK food, but not one of my top favorites.

I couldnt decide between the CaramelCrisp and the CheeseCorn, but I didnt have to: Garretts sells The Mix with both of them mixed together.

Warning youll need a serious pile of napkins to survive a buttery, well-lubed Garrett eating session.

Ive found a new addiction.

Hi Mary Jo,

Yep, the napkins are KEY when eating Garrett!

I discovered Garret’s, and “the mix” when a friend suggested that I give it a try.

I was reluctant, because honestly, the sound of caramel and cheese together didn’t really sound appealing. Boy was I wrong!

Now I’m hooked, and will settle in with a nice sized bag, and lots of napkins, and I’ll be happy as a clam.

Enjoy!

Welcome, Claudine, and thanks for the Atlanta tips. That burger does sound pretty darned good.

Let’s see, a favorite local food in Atlanta. I love the fresh fruit smoothies at Life Grocery. They are made, with fruit, of course, ice, and agave. I also love the steaks that I discovered at Maxim Prime restaurant. Ooooh and give me a burger from Five Guys and cotton candy from just about anywhere. Geesh. I think that I’m hungry!

Hi Darren,

Yes, SOBCon seems to be a permanently Chicago-based event, so you should definitely make plans to come next year - it’s a kick!

I am so jealous Sheila.

Not because your eating popcorn because you are in one of the few US cities that I really (really) want to visit in Chicago and secondly because your at SOBCon. Is it always held in Chicago?

I am coming next year if it is!!

Darren
