And Now, a Word from the Libertarian Party about Healthcare

We’ve tried the free market way and it failed. Free market turned into cut throat business and anything to make a profit. Doing anything to make a profit and letting that be the basis for our health system…the overlap is painful and people are suffering.

The government option is the closest thing to a community-run health system as we can get as a nation.

There needs to be a quick change to get us out of this horrific mess we’re in, and thinking we can quickly change the populations food choices and clean our water systems and switch everyone to eating organic is extremely radical. In fact, I can’t imagine a way to do it without putting a government-run strongarm on the every day choices of every American.

If you look at it this way, for those interested in bettering the life of Americans while giving them the most amount of choices and preserving the freedom we’re entitled to, while keeping the government’s mitts out of where they shouldn’t be, the government health option is integral.

From there we can educate people to make smart decisions about food and their health. Get them off the teet of agrobusiness and get them to the farmer’s markets where they can be eating local and organic and creating communities of educated, proud and healthy Americans. ... Not sure where your opinion and the opinion of Wes Benedict begins.

I’m also not sure why anyone is in favor of letting the market rule healthcare - the healthy and the wealthy I suppose.

I doubt that you can find anyone truly enthused about the current bill, as it stands, but doing nothing is lunacy, and leaving it in the hands of the Republicans, with their self-righteous attitude presented to the world while their hands are outstretched to the insurance companies for a huge donation, (or as those of us who speak plainly call it) a bribe, is like leaving Edward Scissorhands in charge of brain surgery.

Also, the idiots shouting the loudest about rationing of health care are first, being disingenuous, as healthcare is already rationed, it is simply rationed in their favor, and they’ll never be the ones to have to worry about it, considering the bribe money and the accrued wealth that they already have.

It is clear to anyone who doesn’t suffer from cranial rectal immersion (a large problem in the Republican party) that if something is not done about the current healthcare system we will go broke and might as well throw in the towel now.

As for a wide open full retail medical system , I shudder to think what that might be like - probably as far from the world of today as the world shown in the movie Blade Runner. The one thing that movie had right was that sometimes, people need to be retired. ... See all content Hide content
