As a triathlete this was my first duathlon, off road none the less, great event, will certainly be back next year.
Took this whole event for granted, did 6 hours on my road bike the day before, depleted all glycogen stores – result……bonked massivly on the run, thanks to the kind marshals that donated an apple, a twix and warm cup of blackcurrant juice to me

Yep, it rocked! I had a great time and really enjoyed it. And you are right about some of the less-mountain bike oriented folk. The red route at Whinlatter’s about the limit of my riding skills currently and I was catching folk who were less confident/capable than me – two guys I caught weren’t really happy about some of the course judging by their swearing!
