While there are challenges to this technology, and such a solution can’t be used everywhere, it’s a perfect example of a point solution that can contribute to the overall need for power, and that’s what we need, a multi-pronged approach.

“which then boils water” no, I read the application at the CPUC and it is actually the hot molten salt itself which generates steam. There is no water boiled in this technology, the salt gets a viscosity ‘like water’ when heated.
It is an important distinction as the Heartland Institute is drumming up false fears about water use to kill this and other solar projects:
