Icelanders this week are waking up to a bleak McDonald’s-less dystopia. The ubiquitous global chain no longer exists in the increasingly impoverished nation, where a near-total economic collapse has made it too expensive to import McDonald’s products. McDonald’s is to food what the establishment wants education to be–pre-cut, single-answered, dry, over-done, non-original, robotic, guaranteed the same everytime, burnt-out, dysfunctional, or simply said–DEAD CORPSES. Icelanders should rejoice at losing the abomination.
