Jack in Silver Spring

Ron – I agree that the accusers should be arrested, and the parents at a minimum should be made to pay court costs. But I have one correction to your otherwise fine column: Israel does not use a jury system. It has judges who hear cases and arrive at a verdict.

Warren Bonesteel @ #18: Most of the reconciliation bills brought up by Republicans were about budgetary matters and were passed with bipartisan majorities, and in some cases, large ones. This reconciliation bill is an entirely different animal. It is a way of getting the Senate bill passed in the House and by-passing the typical Conference Committee set up to straighten out the different versions. ... See all content

BC @ #50: If you’ve been cued in on Climategate and all the attendant fallout from it, you would know what so-called liberal (or progressives) think of science – how can we use and abuse speculative hypotheses to get control of everybody so everyone bows down to the great goddes Gaia. The equation is CO2 = DDT; just as Rachel Carson provided a speculative hypothesis that got DDT banned ... See all content

My own pet ideas are to repeal the 16th and 17th amendments, but alas I doult that will ever happen. Their are too many special interests that live ... See all content

Ron – Frank Rich is just a small problem at the NYT. The big problem is the entire newspaper. It is an embarrassment to itself. Pinch Sulzberger has made it into an unreliable piece of fishwrap (Michelle Malkin’s term).

David Surls @ #66: We really don’t know whether McVeigh was a right-winger. That’s what the press said, and you know how reliable the press is. McVeigh’s partner (whose name escapes me) took a quick trip to the Philippines where another Moslem terrorist was holed up. Did he convey the information to McVeigh about how to make bombs out of fertilizer? We’ll never know. The Clintonistas ... See all content

genghis @ #3 is onto something. Read Mark Steyn’s piece in NRO on Greece and its low birth-rate. The Greeks will disappear. Unfortunately, their place will like be taken by Muslims. The Steyn piece is here: http://article.nationalreview.com/426405/when-responsibility-doesnt-pay/mark-steyn
