The sad and yes horrifying thing is that this kind of stuff is so “normal” or typical that people (men and women) can read a book like this and not imagine the impact on women. And likewise, girls and boys. Thank you so much for coming here and commenting.

For being a lightening rod for justice, thank you.

For speaking out when at first you were criticized and told you were over reacting, thank you.

For seeing what others did not see, thank you.

For your dramatic words that compelled others to act and write and cry and pray, thank you.

For thinking of your children, and listening to your wife , and speaking up when you were wary and weary, thank you.

Thank you to all four of you and many, many others who spoke up.

I rest tonight feeling hope for a brighter tomorrow, when we must get up and begin the work of sitting at the table and acting, writing, crying and praying face-to-face with common goals.

Zondervan impressed me by their leadership, humility, grace and clear understanding of the issues.

I do hope they remember the women who were equally hurt, dismayed, and broken by the book’s language.

I’m in total agreement with you Tony Lin. Perhaps, hopefully, they will be able to get back online and talk about what they learned through this process. I felt their statement made it sound like they were somehow innocent victims as well. I’ve managed a web “community” before and Mike/Judd can easily keep that going, and lead with integrity, bringing in various voices, so that the huge rift that is occurring here and elsewhere could be carefully and lovingly led, rather than all this visceral reactionary stuff.

I’m really stunned, and embarrassed by my fellow white’s — men mostly who seem to be so angry and defensive and accusatory.

If we have hurt others, and we’re in positions of leadership, we have a huge responsibility to care and change. It seems so obvious. How can any of this vitriol help? Awareness and appreciation of beauty and differences of race, ethnicity and culture is not PC, it’s godly. And putting it in terms of winning and losing is just so wrong.

I am very sad about all of this ranting, although there are glimpses of mercy and peacemaking, and listening mostly this is becoming divisive.

There’s a danger to the mediums of blogs and such, ….

Need to mull on all this…. but I hurt for my new Asian American friends that I’ve met around this. I hurt for the authors because they surely are grieving and it is difficult and surreal I am sure. I hope they will come back and get back up online and begin the process of walking forward.
