Wow, a ton of animosity against God and missionaries. Fact: It was only the western missionaries who’ve noticed Haiti the last few decades. Now suddenly the world has its attention on Haiti, and everyone but the missionaries are experts.

Instead of debating the guy’s faith in God, recognize that he survived a perilous situation that took the life of his buddy, and 10s of thousands of other souls. Given the circumstances, you’d all be praying to a God when a building collapses.

He kept his cool, he didn’t panic, he used the tools that were available to ensure his survival, but I bet he prayed like crazy that God would spare him.

Did he say he was special? No. He seems humble in his honesty that he was spared from a terrible natural disaster.
