That being said, don't put too much stock on the protests themselves. I've been to Jakarta countless times over the past coupled decades and they will throw these things for ANY reason whatsoever. And they've done it to EVERY single president since they obtained their "independence."

Truth be told, Indonesia is so bloody disfunctional I would advocate giving it back to the Dutch if I thought the Dutch would actually accept.

While I agree with the vast majority of your points, there is one speciifc one I believe you are dead wrong in.

Firstly, I agree about the special effects guys (who REALLY earned their paychecks), and I would even offer the actors themselves onto that list, but the rest of your post has serious issues.

I, for one, would. Because Pocahontas had a far, FAR better script than Avatar did, and while it has historical "issues" to boot that I cannot help but notice, how can much compete with classics? All you have to do is listen to "Savages" to realize how superior in storytelling Pocahontas is to Avatar.

I honestly either envy or pity you, and I cannot tell which. Because even if we DO strip away all the political bombs Cameron added just because he could, the dialogue STILL is unnatural and downright forced, which is ESPECIALLY glaring since this film has been in the works for so long (what? Did Cameron not look at his script at some point in the umpteen years it existed prior to shooting and not realize how poor his dialogue was?). No characters, no plot, no movie, just blurring pictures on the screen and sound. It isn't even a master propaganda piece from what he was aiming at, given how badly botched the dialogue and script were,
