I don't agree that jQuery is confusing. It's pretty much like any other javascript framework out there. Out of them all (Ext, MooTools, Prototype/Scriptaculous, jQuery) I decided for http://theeasyapi.com we would go with jQuery. Not just because I've been using it for almost 2 years, but because it's still the smallest framework that does the most in my opinion. It has the ability to be extended in ways that the other frameworks just can't live up to.
