On simplicity

I just read Living Simply with Children by Marie Sherlock. Before I was a parent I took a simplicity discussion class. At that point, I made a series of small life changes. Now that I am a parent and therefore living a more complex life, I thought it would be worth reading up again. Many of the ideas were not new to me but I do find it inspiring to know that others are questioning the fast pace of mainstream living too.

not long ago, it was long enough that the authors spent significantly more time discussing television viewing by children than they did the influence of the Internet. I think for school-aged children and older, there has likely been a shift in screen time from television to the computer and/or cell phone.

It also referenced Your Money or Your Life, which is another simplicity book I have yet to read. It’s on my list.
